Chelsea received a boost in the race for champions league qualification for next season as Leicester city lost to Tottenham Hotspurs in the premier league courtesy of a 3-0 win for Jose Mourinho's side,Chelsea however, secured their place in the FA cup final after a 3-1 win over Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Manchester united.

However,Chelsea are said to be preparing for next season as the club is being continuously linked with some players and they are one of few teams who will have money to spend this summer despite the corona virus outbreak which have had an impact on the finances of football clubs.

But according to reports,Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is using the same transfer trick that saw Timo Werner arrive at Chelsea to lure Kai Havertz to London.

The Blues are reportedly edging closer to signing the Bayer Leverkusen midfielder, with the deal all but done.

With 17 goals and nine assists this season, Kai Havertz has attracted the attention of Chelsea as he became the highest scoring Bundesliga player by the age of 21.

And Havertz is not the only player to arrive from the German league, though, with Timo Werner arriving from RB Leipzig last month.

And according to reports,Frank Lampard will be pulling out the same trick used to attract the 24-year-old to London to get his international teammate there.

Havertz has been in conversation with the Chelsea boss over a transfer from Leverkusen and an “attraction” was formed during this tie.

Such is the impact of the conversations that the 21-year-old would not be affected if the Blues fail to qualify for next year’s Champions league.

And this is the same case with Werner as his conversations with Frank Lampard were key to determining the outcome".

Chelsea’s recent form in the Premier League, with losses to West Ham and Sheffield united saw some doubts whether they will be able to get Harvertz's transfer over the line.

Defender Antonio Rudiger, though, got to work as an agent to keep the 21-year-old midfielder interested in a move to Stamford Bridge.

It comes as Kai Havertz own stance on the club has been revealed.
