Donnarumma Has Conceded Two Goals In A Match For The First Time In 5 Years For His Country

While looking at international football, it is rare for a goalkeeper to not concede may goals in a long period. However, there is an Italian goalie who had just recently conceded at least 2 goals in one match despite representing the team for five years. No the goalkeeper is not Buffon but his successor Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Donnarumma has been representing the Italian national team since his under 15 days and represented the under 16, 17 and 21 before he was finally promoted to the senior team on the 1st of September, 2016 when he was just 17 years, 6 months and 07 days old. The first team coach at that time (Gian Piero Ventura), must have seen his talent quickly and probably made the best decision in his career by promoting the 17 year old.

During his 5 years as a national senior team goalie, he has played 37 games and has conceded only 18 goals. He has also kept an impressive 20 clean sheets which includes 6 in the Nations League, 3 at international friendlies, 3 at the Euros, 5 at the world cup qualifiers and 3 at the Euros qualifiers.

However, despite such impressive stats, he never for once conceded 2 goals in the same match until he faced Spain many hours ago as Italy succumbed to a 2-1 defeat. A record that even the great Gigi Buffon couldn't keep.
