Footballers play more games for their clubs but the few games they play for their countries are honorable. National team coaches use club football to judge the form of footballers who are invited to the national team.
New players receive invitations to the national team regularly and two Nigerian players deserve a call-up to the Super Eagles for the first time team based on their current performances for their clubs.
The 19-year-old former Golden Eaglet currently plays for Hammarby IF in Sweden. He already has over 50 games as a professional in Europe, this is outstanding. National team call-up is no longer by age and Amoo deserves to get a call-up because, in his club, he carries so many responsibilities, including taking penalties.
In 2020, he was worth €200k but in 2021 as per Transfermarkt, he is currently worths €3m, and this only means he is developing rapidly. The absence of Ndidi and Etebo in the Super Eagles midfield was one of the reasons Nigeria lost to the Central Africa Republic in Lagos, Nigeria needs a solid midfielder like Amoo who now has 8 goals this season.
2. Ezekiel Henty
Another player that Gernot Rohr cannot keep ignoring is Ezekiel Henty who is in red hot form. Ezekiel has been consistent for Slovan Bratislava for a long time and he keeps bagging goals not just in his league but in the Europa Conference League competition.
This former AC Milan striker has 9 trophies as a professional in Europe but has not yet featured for the Super Eagles. He is deadly in front of a goal and scores in every club he plays.
Nigeria needs players who are hungry for success and these two players need to get their call-ups to help the Super Eagles.
