Tactical 3-5-2 Formation That Could Get Man Utd All 3 Points Against Liverpool

Manchester United would be going up against Liverpool in a crunch Super Sunday clash. Last season, the two clubs played against each other three times with Manchester United winning one (FA Cup), Liverpool winning one, and the third ending in a nil-nil draw.

Manchester United would have their work cut out if they are to get a result against Liverpool. The Manchester club has been in rotten form in the league lately and they would have to up their game if they are to get all three points. Apart from that, their embattled manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, would have to get all his decisions spot-on, most especially his line-up, for Manchester United to stand a chance of winning the match.

That said, below is the 3-5-2 formation that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could use to get a good result against Liverpool:

David De Gea has been in irresistible form this season with impressive performances week in week out. His performances have restricted Dean Henderson to cup appearances only. If he continues his impressive form against Liverpool, Manchester United would have a better chance of keeping the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane at bay.

The back three should consist of Luke Shaw as the left centre-back, Harry Maguire as the centre-back in the middle, and Victor Lindelof on the right of the backline. Luke Shaw has had success shackling Mohamed Salah in the past and he could do it again.

Marcus Rashford should start as the left wing-back. His energy and burst of pace down the left flank should prove unstoppable for Trent Alexander-Arnold. Aaron Wan-Bissaka should be used as the right wing-back.

The holding midfielders should be Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba while Bruno Fernandes should occupy the attacking midfield position as usual.

A frontline consisting of Edinson Cavani and Cristiano Ronaldo should provide Liverpool with all sorts of problems throughout the match.
