Chelsea football club are currently in a hot race with Leicester City and Manchester United to finish in the top four this season.
While many fans may be contented with what Frank Lampard has done with the team this season, they will hope to challenge Manchester City and Liverpool for the EPL title next season.
The Blues have already boosted the attack line as they confirmed the signature of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner during the course of the season.
However, the defence is still the weak link for this Chelsea side. The centre-backs have struggled this season and fact that chelsea has conceeded 49 Premier League goals this season just buttressed the point.
The goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga has been criticised for the most part of the campaign and many believed he still hasn't lived up to his massive price tag which made the most expensive goalkeeper in the world.
The midfield area needs to be strengthened too as it has lacked creativity for a large part of the season with Chelsea struggling to dispatch stubborn defences.
To challenge for the PL crown next season, Chelsea need to get some new players. Here are the four players who would immediately improve the team.
1. Jan Oblak
If Chelsea do want to challange for the English Premier League next season, then they must make Jan Oblak one of their priorities in the summer.
The Slovenian goalkeeper has been impressive for Atletico Madrid since he replaced Thibaut Courtois five years ago.
The spanish club value him at €120m but that price could be reduced as Chelsea are looking to offer Kepa to them.
2. Kai Havertz
Chelsea FC have been eyeing the 21-year-old midfield sensation for a while now, and rightly so, as his talent could make the difference for the Blues next season.
Bayer Leverkusen value the goalscoring midfielder at £90million and Chelsea have the upper hand in negotiations at the moment.
3. Kalidou Koulibaly
As stated earlier, Chelsea need to strengthen their defence if they want to be a serious contender for the PL title next season and Koulibaly is the man they should be looking for to fix it.
The reliable, dominant defender has been a mainstay in Napoli defence all season and if Lampard can bring him to Stamford Bridge, then he can finally put their defensive issues to bed.
4. Ben Chilwell
Chelsea left-backs, Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri have had a torrid 2019/2020 to the extent that veteran Ceaser Azpilicueta was shifted to play the role.
However, Chelsea are looking to sign Ben Chilwell as they believe he will fix their issues in that position, and rightly so.
The young England International has shown his talents and attacking instincts all season as Leicester are still very much in the race to qualify for next season's UEFA Champions League.
With these signings, coupled with the young and exciting players available to Frank Lampard, they would be on course to challenge Liverpool and Manchester next season and potentially bring the trophy back to the Blue side of London.
