Free-kicks can be an extremely effective way of scoring goals, but at the same time it is usually very tricky and that's why only players with refine skills to lift the ball over or in between the wall are usually given the responsibility. With precisely 182 goals scored across 70 games, there's no question that the 2021-22 season has been a prolific one so far.
However, of the 39 players who have found the back of the net this campaign, check out the only three players who scored from a free-kick set piece.
He is the very first player to bag a free-kick goal in the top flight this campaign following his 27th minute strike against Crystal Palace in a 3-0 win at Stamford Bridge on match week one. The Spaniard angled his effort over the wall and it curled away into the top right corner leaving the keeper with no chance.
A terrific free-kick from the South Korean which was meant to be a cross somehow found its way into the back of the net as Tottenham Hotspurs recorded a 1-0 victory over Watford on match week three.
The Norwegian's exquisite free-kick handed Arsenal a 1-0 win against Burnley at Turf Moor on match week five. The 25 yards strike was his first goal since joining Arsenal permanently from Real Madrid.Other than the aforementioned footballers, no other player has bagged a free-kick in the Premier league this season. However, seeing that the campaign is still a long way from over, we hope to have more players stepping up and doing the spectacular.
