Former Liverpool player Michael Owen criticises Chelsea keeper for role in Christensen's red card

There was very little goalscoring opportunities to talk of as Liverpool dominated possession without creating anything. Chelsea did look dangerous on the break with Timo Werner but Alisson didn’t have a save to make.

However, with just a few minutes to go until half-time, we finally had some drama. Christensen was given a straight red after a VAR survey for bringing down Mane before the break.

And Previous Liverpool forward Michael Owen believes Kepa 'confused' Andreas Christensen before he was sent off for bringing down Sadio Mane on the half-time.

We hear a lot of the time about goalkeepers causing anxiety in their back four and I believe that is an ideal example,' Owen disclosed to Premier League Productions

'He did it before on in the game when he ran out of his container for no clear explanation. At the point when your goalkeeper is on tension, it runs all through your team. He shouldn't be running 25 yards to leave his goal.'

Kepa's evening at that point worsened when the Spaniard saw his pass out caught by Mane, who had a vacant net to affirm the three points.
