Wolves vs Liverpool preview

Two underwhelming sides meet at the Molineux Stadium on a Monday night encounter as wolves host Liverpool. The two sides are a shadow of their last season performance.

Liverpool, who walked through to the title last season are currently languishing in 8th having succumbed to 6 successive home defeats, the latest coming from the relegation threatened fulham. Liverpool will be buoyed by their champions league heroics against lipzeig. The reds restored fabinho to his familiar defensive midfield position and it proved vital in restoring balance against an adventurous lipzeig side.

Wolves are also come off the back of three successive defeats and results haven't gone the way they wanted this season. They sit currently in 13th place with 35 points; closer to relegation than a top four challenge.

What the managers have to say...

On wolves poor run Jurgen klopp had this to say “I have a lot of sympathy for what Nuno is doing because he is doing an incredible job. This is just a strange year and you cannot replace one to one a player with the quality of Raul Jiminez. That’s clear.”

While Nuno Espirito Santo only had high praise and admiration for Klopp's achievements, “The quality, the talent and the achievements that the club and Jurgen have done is amazing and we’re going to face a very talented squad, a very good football team who have a fantastic approach and idea on the game."
