Chelsea handed fresh update on Bayern Munich defender David Alaba

Chelsea have been dealt a fresh blow in their pursuit of Bayern Munich star David Alaba in the summer.

Alaba, who turns 29 in June, has failed to agree a contract renewal with Bayern and will be a free agent in the summer, with Real Madrid close to agreeing a four-year deal worth £400,000-a-week with the Austrian.

It was reported earlier this week that Chelsea are unwilling to break their current wage structure to land the defender, who has put off a number of interested clubs by demanding to be paid an incredible £20 million per year.

As per Matt Law of The Telegraph, Alaba's wage demands are too high for Chelsea and furthermore, the predominant left-back, who has flourished at centre-back for the past two seasons, would like to operate as a defensive midfielder at his next club.

Real Madrid And Liverpool are still very much interested in signing the star player

Celtic target Burnley's Brady

Celtic have identified Burnley midfielder Robbie Brady as a transfer target - according to The Mirror.

The 29-year-old has yet to reach an agreement over a new contract at Turf Moor, with his existing deal set to expire at the end of June.

Celtic are ready to pounce for Brady if he leaves Burnley, where he has spent the last four years of his career.

Atletico, Juve & PSG interested in Tapia

Celta Vigo midfielder Renato Tapia is the subject of interest from Atletico Madrid, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain - according to AS.

All three clubs are weighing up summer moves for the 25-year-old, whose current contract at Estadio de Balaídos is not due to expire until 2024.

Tapia has already racked up 24 appearances across all competitions for Celta in 2020-21.

Pochettino eager to lure Lloris to PSG

French keeper touted for Parc des Princes move

Mauricio Pochettino is eager to lure Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris to Paris Saint-Germain - according to Football Insider.

The Argentine had a close relationship with the French shot-stopper at Spurs, and wants to arrange a reunion at Parc des Princes.

Lloris has made 23 Premier League appearances for Tottenham this term, but his current contract is due to expire in 2022.

Costa in talks to join Palmeiras

Diego Costa is in talks to join boyhood club Palmeiras - according to Sky Sports.

The 32-year-old has been out of contract since terminating his contract at Atletico Madrid last month.

Palmeiras have offered Costa a two-year deal worth €2.5 million, with a deal set to be finalised in the coming days.

PSG made Casemiro enquiry

Paris Saint-Germain made an enquiry for Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro last summer - according to Marca.

The French club were eager to sign the 28-year-old, but the Blancos made it clear he was not for sale.

Madrid are planning to keep Casemiro on their books until at least the end of the 2022-23 campaign.

Arsenal close in on Sporting striker Tomas

Arsenal are closing in on a deal for Sporting CP striker Tiago Tomas - according to The Sun.

The Portuguese club may be willing to let the 18-year-old leave for as little as £20 million ($28m) in the summer.

Arsenal are already in talks with Sporting over a final transfer, with Tomas likely to move to Emirates Stadium at the end of the season.

Man Utd must sign defensive leader'

It was not that long ago that Manchester United looked like genuine Premier League title contenders, but those hopes are drifting away quickly now.

This United team is a work in progress; a project which at times this season, while they were sitting top of the table, looked to be progressing ahead of schedule.

But if there was any doubt as to why United are prioritising signing a centre back this summer, then the first 45 minutes against West Brom emphasised the reasons.
