Brentford have proven to many that they are not underdogs and must not be underrated. They beat Arsenal 2-1 in the season opener and have also beaten West Ham United. They also recorded draws against Liverpool and Crystal Palace, losing just one game, against Brighton in their seven matches played so far.
This is a major statement, especially coming from a team that just gained promotion to the Premier League.
Brentford's stellar start to the season is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon, and having taken seven points from their last three games, Thomas Frank's side have risen to seventh on the table - above the likes of Leicester City, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
That is why Chelsea must not underrate the Bees when they clash on Saturday evening.
The Blues are sitting two points clear on the league table and have not lost an EPL game this season, making them the favourites to win all three points at the Brentford Community Stadium.
The Thomas Tuchel's side will not find it easy especially as they are playing away, but they can win if they do these two things.
1. Control the midfield: Brentford is a team that is fast and builds from the midfield. If Chelsea can take charge of proceedings in the midfield, they would deny their opponent any chance of scoring.
Chelsea will also have to hold their defence tight and prepare for fireworks from Brentford attacks. Report that Antonio Rudiger may miss the clash is a major blow for the Blues who are facing major list of injury scares.
Ngolo Kante and Reece James, who are somehow fit and could start, will have a lot of work on the midfield if Chelsea must score in the first half.
2. It's not over until its over: Thomas Tuchel must let his players understand that it is not over until the final whistle is blown.
Brentford is a side that never gas out until the final blast of the whistle and that is a major part the Blues must be wary of.
Some of Brentford's goals have been scored inside the last ten minutes, which means they don't give up and can bounce back at any time.
Also, Chelsea must take advantage of their chances and not waste them.
If the Blues can do these things, they can claim all three points and cement their place at the top of the EPL table.
