How Chelsea Could Lineup Without Romelu Lukaku To Face Norwich City

The league leaders will be facing the club at the bottom, Norwich City, on Saturday. Chelsea are set to host Norwich in the Stamford bridge stadium for the 9th round of the Premier League campaign.

Chelsea's Champions League performance against Malmö will give them the morale needed to win this match. Norwich are still yet to win a game this season, and will be going up against one of the best defenses in the Premier League.

A win here for Chelsea would keep their place in the first position, as they hope to end the season as Premier League champions.

Chelsea would have to play the match without Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner, who were injured in the match against Malmö. Thomas Tuchel would want to rest them to avoid any more serious injuries.

The Belgian striker was a victim of a reckless challenge, which gave Chelsea a penalty. He tried to continue, but was later seen limping off the pitch.

Timo Werner is currently out due to a hamstring injury. This opens the way for Callum Hudson-Odoi or Hakim Ziyech to come in, as Kai Havertz would play the role of a false 9.

How Chelsea Could Lineup Without Romelu Lukaku As They Face Norwich.

Chelsea's main striker Romelu Lukaku was involved in an ankle twist injury, so there's a chance of him missing the game against Norwich. His absence would give Kai Havertz the opportunity to play a false 9 role.

Kai Havertz and Callum Hudson-Odoi looked like a good pair in attack when they faced Malmö in the Champions League.

Callum Hudson-Odoi gave Kai Havertz a through pass, which Havertz chipped over the keeper to get on the scoresheet. They may get paired up again to face Norwich.

Ben Chilwell and Reece James would be the wing-backs. Reece James was out injured, so he missed the game against Juventus and Southampton. But he is back, fit and ready so he should play the Norwich game.

Mateo Kovacic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek should handle the midfield. Both players have given an excellent performance, especially Ruben Loftus-Cheek. So they should be handed a place in the starting lineup.

Antonio Rüdiger is back from injury, and Malmö got first hand what he is capable of doing on the ball. He is one of Chelsea's key players.

Andreas Christensen seems to be in good form lately, and has improved on his defending abilities. He should be at the centre of Antonio Rüdiger and Cesar Azpilicueta.

It should be another clean sheet for Eduoard Mendy. The Senegalese goalkeeper has proven to be one of the best in that position, and even though Norwich get past Chelsea's defence, they still need to get past Mendy.
