Chelsea football club have been experiencing goal drought from their forwards in some of their past matches. The two goals that awarded them their last victory against Southampton were scored by their defenders, Trevor Chalobah and Ben Chilwell respectively. The Chelsea's goal drought can be pointed to the wingers who are yet to bond strongly with their new striker, Romelu Lukaku in the front-line position.
The connection between Romelu and the wingers is very poor and need much improvement and this is where Tuchel has a workload to dispatch.
Nevertheless, Tuchel can improve the Chelsea's front-line position by deploying these 2 tactical strategies:
1. Tuchel should be featuring Ross Barkley at the left wing-forward with Lukaku: The young English midfielder has proven that he has a high quality on the pitch as he is skillful, strong, decisive, creates chances and has a positive vibe in firing shots from both far and close range. Pairing Barkley as a left wing-forward with Lukaku in the front-line position will surely augur well for Tuchel as Barkley can either assist Lukaku in scoring goals or fire in goals by his strikes.
2. Hakim Ziyech playing from the right wing-forward with Lukaku: It is true that the Morrocan midfielder is struggling with form recently but I believe he can be inspired and motivated by the introduction of a vibrant winger because Iron sharpens iron. Ziyech is also a great player that is good at assisting his teammates with long range assists and he can also fire shots too. And this attributes of Ziyech will surely spell great positive vibes for Lukaku in scoring goals and the Chelsea squad.
