Nneka Ede Becomes The First Afrcian Woman To Purchase And Own A Football Club

A Nigerian Business Morgul and Entrepreneur Nneka Ede have purchased the Portuguese third division football club "Lusitano Ginasio Clube" for a price which is not yet revealed.


Miss Nneke Ede is currently the very first African lady to own a football club.

Nneka Ede has secured 100 percent ownership of "Lusiitano Ginasio Clube" according to a released statement.


The 108-years-old club, founded in 1911 last played in the Portuguese top-flight divisions in the 1950s.


The Club statement announcing the purchase read :

After months of Negotiation with different entities, an agreement has been reached with Mrs. Nneka Ede, a Nigerian sports Enthusiast and Entrepreneur, from a country filled with people who are passionate and fiery about football as us and which incidentally share the same green and white in their flag, towards the transfer of ownership of SAD to her, that will help us in our mission to take Lusitano to the next level ".


Mrs. Nneka Ede speaking after an acquiring the club said:

“I am excited about this opportunity and I hope that this new chapter will deepen the already great sporting relation between Nigeria and Portugal,” she said.


“And to continue with the rich history of Lusitano club and provide a pathway for young talent to develop and shine through.”


This I supposes is a great achievement for Mrs. Nneka and To Nigerians, and the next step to watch how she transforms the club which last made waves far back as 19950s.
