Two Teams May Win The EPL Title In The Same Season, According to EPL Rules

The English Premier League has been one of the best leagues in the world over the years for the quality of football and unending drama that has been seen in the league, and the 2021/2022 season has not been an exception after games into the season.

Chelsea football club leads the English Premier League with 13 points after five games, winning four and drawing one against Liverpool. The Blues are closely followed on the table by Liverpool, who have identical records as Chelsea, scoring 12 goals and conceding one in a 1-1 draw.

But if you ever wondered what would happen if the two teams ended the season as they are now, having identical records, then the Premier League has made it clear in its rules that any two teams that finish the season with the same number of goals scored and conceded, and the same points, will be awarded the same position, which means if two teams have identical records and finish in the first two positions on the EPL table, the two teams will be declared league champions.

We have seen a situation Mane, Salah and Aubameyang were awarded the EPL's golden boot for finishing the season as the highest goal scorers, but we are yet to witness where two teams end the season on identical records.
