The young English defender left Chelsea after spending seven years in the Blues youth team development programme. He left his African root Cameroon to move to England and will be playing for another Premier League team this season.
Chelsea released an official statement on their website to confirm Dynel Simeu's move to Southampton on Tuesday.
"Dynel Simeu has today completed a permanent transfer to Southampton. The England Under-19 international joins the South Coast club after seven years in our youth development programme, returning to the area in which he grew up following his move to England from Cameroon as a child," the club stated.
Simeu made 22 appearances last season for Chelsea's development squad under the management of Andy Myers. He could have graduated to the first team this year but there's no space for the young defender in this current Thomas Tuchel squad.
