The Blues are currently one of the best clubs in Europe, and now have what it takes to compete in tough European competitions. With the signing of Romelu Lukaku, Chelsea got themselves a top-class No.9 that can convert chances to goals.
The Premier League is more tough now than ever, with four clubs being the favourites to win the EPL title this season. Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool all have what it takes to be League winners this season.
Although Chelsea have improved as a club and now have quality players, they are still looking to add more players to the squad and allow for more options on the bench.
Chelsea have been in contact with Jules Koundé, a Sevilla defender, and are interested in signing him on a permanent contract. Jules Koundé has good defensive qualities and also has the ability to drive with the ball to the forward area.
The Blues also want to sign Atlético Madrid midfielder, Saúl Ñíguez, on loan with an option to buy. The 26-year-old is a top-class midfielder that has strength and delivers successful tackles. He is also calm on the ball and can control the midfield.
Being the Champions of Europe and winning the Super Cup, all eyes would be on Chelsea this season to pull off another incredible feat. But mostly, the Chelsea fans and players want to win the Premier League title and Uefa Champions League also.
How Chelsea Could Lineup With Saúl and Joules Koundé.
Thomas Tuchel would have a lot of players on his hand, but this would be good for Chelsea. It would create a healthy competition among players and they will do their best to make it to the starting lineup.
Tuchel's main formation is 3-4-3, and there are no signs of him changing it anytime soon. This formation has brought him success and he has mastered it.
Romelu Lukaku, Mason Mount and Kai Havertz would lead the attack. Mount and Havertz are top players who pose a threat to the opposition defence. Romelu Lukaku is an elite striker who uses his strength to bully defenders, and he is good at linkup plays. Fans will be expecting a lot of goals from this forward trio.
Ben Chilwell and Reece James will play as the wing-backs who can join in on the attack and also run back to help defend. Chillwell can also be replaced by Marcos Alonso depending on the kind of match and who impresses Tuchel more at training.
Saúl and N'golo Kante in the midfield will be the best partnership in football. Both players are good at making tackles and controlling the midfield. Kante covers a lot of ground and is quick on the ball, Saúl is skillful and uses his strength to hold off players.
Antonio Rudiger, Thiago Silva and Jules Koundé in the backline would make it difficult for opposition attackers to get through. Rudiger is seen as a wall for Chelsea and gives the opposing players a tough time. Koundé can drive forward and Thiago Silva has good distribution of the ball.
Edouard Mendy would still be Chelsea's goalkeeper, as he has good reflexes and makes good saves. But he needs to work on his ball distribution and stop making errors with his passes.
With this lineup, there is no doubt Chelsea would dominate Europe to win titles and may even become the best club in the world.
