Opinion: Chelsea Showed Two Title Winning Qualities In The Win Over Norwich City

Going into today's Premier League game against Norwich City, Chelsea fans must have had some doubt because of their recent injury crisis. The blues were without the services of Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner. Werner's unavailability may not have been a reason for worry, but the same cannot be said for Romelu Lukaku. He has been a mainstay in attack for the blues this season, and the team has largely been built around him.

His ability to lead them on the counter-attack cannot be matched by any other player, so the concerns were justified. The lineup must have even invited more fear with Mason Mount, Kai Havertz and Callum Hudson-odoi leading the line. However, the blues made sure to erase all doubt from the minds of the fans after only 8 minutes. Mason Mount fired in from the edge of the box to give them the lead and from there, it was all too easy for them.

Ten minutes later, Callum Hudson-odoi added the second of the game. From then on, the game was just a formality as the blues coasted to victory. Reece James made it there before halftime, and Ben Chilwell added another just 10 minutes into the second half. I am of the opinion that they showed two two qualities befitting of champions in the game.

1. The Ability To Find Goals From Very Unlikely Sources.

Callum Hudson-odoi's goal was quite significant because he is the 17th player to score a goal for them this season. Among their scorers in the Norwich game were two defenders, which is quite impressive.

A look at some other rivals show that they are the best in this aspect. Look at Liverpool, who largely depend on Mohammed Salah, Sadio Mane and other star men to deliver the goals. There is Manchester City who despite having that ability cannot match Chelsea in finding unlikely goals scorers. Manchester United on the other hand are always dependent on the individual brilliance of Mason Greenwood, Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes and others.

2. The Ability To Perform As A Team Even Without Key Players.

Lukaku was a big miss, but this Chelsea team showed that they are not dependent on him or anyone. Without two of their recognized strikers, they made light work of Norwich City. That is surely an asset that will count for them in the title race.

At this rate, the blues are a team to beat, and it is hard to bet against them winning the title.
