Opinion: Brentford Could Beat Manchester United And Chelsea This Season

Chelsea and Manchester United have spent a lot of money during the summer transfer window. The likes of Romelu Lukaku, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Jadon Sancho moved to the English Premier League this summer. Both Manchester United and Chelsea players have done very well since the beginning of this season.

However, there is one team that could beat Manchester United and Chelsea this season. Let us take a look at this team.

What a revelation Brentford has been. New to the Premier League, you wouldn't know it from the impressive start they've made.

Wins over Arsenal, Wolves, and West Ham plus that thrilling 3-3 draw against Liverpool have seen them make the step up in division look effortless.

Thomas Frank's side has still only lost the one game - at home to Brighton - and Yoane Wissa's 94th-minute winner at West Ham on Sunday means they enter the international pause with a real spring in their step.

Wissa, a summer arrival from Lorient, has settled in very nicely, while Bryan Mbeumo and Ivan Toney have ensured the Bees have an edge in attack.

As anyone who watched them in the Championship last season knows, Brentford is an entertainer and they're capable of defeating Manchester United and Chelsea.

They're streetwise as well, with some tactics that can rub Manchester United and Chelsea up the wrong way, but with one of the lowest budgets in the Premier League, they need every little advantage they can get.

There are going to be times when things don't go so well and some resilience is required but the early part of the season suggests all those pre-season predictions of relegation are wide of the mark.
