Merseyside rivals Everton and Liverpool have won a combined 28 English top-flight titles during their existence.
Since Liverpool were founded in 1892, a total of 38 players have run out for both The Toffees and The Reds. This is known by many as ‘crossing the park’ due to the two clubs’ grounds being separated by Stanley Park.
Of the 38 players to play for the home side at both Goodison Park and Anfield, some have experienced considerable success.
Steve McMahon: Everton youth product turned Anfield legend
Central midfielder Steve McMahon was promoted to the first team at Goodison Park in 1979 aged just 18. He went on to make 79 appearances for The Toffees in four years, scoring nine times, before moving to Aston Villa for £180,000.
McMahon crossed the park in 1985 when he joined Liverpool from Villa for £360,000. Six years and 252 games later he moved to Manchester City for £900,000, having scored 37 goals and provided 19 assists.
McMahon was part of a Liverpool squad which won two First Division titles, two FA Cups and four Community Shields. He was also capped 18 times for England.
