Opinion: How Tuchel's tactic is limiting Lukaku's Chances of scoring against big teams.

Romelu Lukaku returned to Chelsea from Inter Milan in the summer transfer window. The big completed his big-money return to Stamford Bridge on 12 August and scored on his second Chelsea debut ten days later against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. The big Belgian striker was outstanding for Chelsea on his debut and he was voted the man of the match at the end of the game.

However, he failed to score in his next appearance against Liverpool but scored two in his third game against Aston Villa before adding another one against Zenit St Petersburg in the Champions. Since then, Lukaku has failed to score in his last 3 games for Chelsea including their last game against Manchester City on Saturday afternoon.

And in my opinion, it is due to his limited chances on the ball in games, and that is as a result of Tuchel's tactics and defensive approach each time he faces big teams. We all saw how Lukaku was restricted from the ball against Manchester City on Saturday afternoon, he couldn't impress in the game because he did not receive enough balls in attacking positions given Man City were dominating the game from midfield while his teammates were sitting back to defend leaving only him and Werner upfront without supplying them with passes in their opponent box.

Lukaku also struggled against Tottenham last week, especially in the first half of the game when Tottenham was dominating the game, but he later showed some promising signs in the second half after his team might have changed their approach to a more attacking one.

So I think that Tuchel's defensive approach against big teams is limiting Lukaku's chances of scoring goals against big teams, and Lukaku might lose his confidence if he fails to score regularly, so I suggest he should use tactics that allow midfielders to move forward to supply passes to attackers instead of always sitting back to defend in big games.Werner partnered with Lukaku up front against Manchester City on Saturday afternoon but they didn't have enough chances in the game.
