Chelsea's expected line-up vs Leicester City: Will Lukaku start?

Chelsea have been solid as a rock under Thomas Tuchel this season, but they could stumble right after the international break when they face Leicester City away from home.

With his team out of sync and several first-team players just returning from injuries, such a strong fixture right after a two-week break could pose a bit of a problem for the manager.

The Blues are still favorites to win on Saturday, but because it is Leicester's home game, Brendan Rodgers' side is bound to throw everything at them.

Chelsea enters this weekend's match with one draw and two wins, but they are up against teams like Manchester City and West Ham United. This means they must win all three points on Saturday or risk losing their first-place position in the coming weeks. Tuchel is expected to have a nearly fully-fit squad to choose from, but given Chelsea's depth, naming a strong starting lineup should not be a problem.

Chelsea team news and injury updates for the match against Leicester City:

Thiago Silva did not play for Brazil during the international break, so he is a lock to start in central defense this weekend — alongside Rudiger and possibly Christensen.

Marcos Alonso has returned to training this week and will be available for selection, but Ben Chilwell is the Blues' current No. 1 left full-back, and we expect that to continue against Leicester City.

N'Golo Kante was another player who did not play for France during the break, so he will be fresh and ready to go as well. Mateo Kovacic is out with a hamstring injury, so Jorginho will start, despite the fact that the Italian is playing during the international break.

Mason Mount had to withdraw from the England squad due to complications from dental surgery, but the club has confirmed his return to first-team training, so he will be contending for a starting spot as well.

With Pulisic back in the fold and Hudson-Odoi playing some impressive football, Thomas Tuchel should not have to start at Mount. So let's see how this one goes.

Mount's return is also bad news for Ross Barkley, who has seen a lot of game time in recent weeks. However, with so many players returning, Barkley is likely to fall down the pecking order.

At the King Power, Timo Werner may be a few days away from full fitness, so he looks set to miss out on Saturday, but Romelu Lukaku has made a full recovery and will be a sure starter.

The return of Lukaku will most likely cause problems for Kai Havertz, who has been playing as the main center-forward in recent weeks. With the Belgian returning from injury, Havertz should ideally be getting a bigger role, but he could also be pushed back to the bench.

The Chelsea manager has the option of using Ruben Loftus-Cheek or Hakim Ziyech on the right side of attack, and given Kai Havertz's lack of goal contributions in recent weeks, Tuchel may be planning a first XI without the German.

Chelsea's predicted lineup vs. Leicester City is as follows:

Mendy; Rudiger, Thiago Silva, Christensen; Azpilicueta/Reece James, Jorginho, Kante, Chilwell; Hudson-Odoi/Mount, Havertz/Loftus-Cheek; Romelu Lukaku (predicted starting lineup 3-4-2-1).
