FC Barcelona has just began post-Messi's era, as they defeated Real Sociedad in their opening match of 2021/2022 Spanish League campaign.

The Catalan giants goes into the match confident and highly determined, which sees them secured two goals in the first half from Gerard Pique and Martin Braithwaite respectively. The new signing played freekick in 19 minutes of the game, which Pique headed past Sociedad goalkeeper into the back of the net to take the lead, before Braithwaite added the second goal of the game through Frenkie de Jong assist in the added minutes of first half.

Going into the second half of the game, the Bluagranas maintained their lead firmly and the defense well organized. Around 59 minutes, Braithwaite added his second goal through rebounding shot, making the score lime 3 – 0.


However, Real Sociedad replied with two successive late goals to reduce the deficit to just one goal in 85th minutes. But Braithwaite yet again, provided neat assist to Sergi Roberto to make it 4 goals to 2 in injury time.
