Meet Erling Haaland's Friend that helped in the battering of Jose Mourinho squad during a UEL clash

AS Roma Manager Jose Mourinho might not exactly be the Special One anymore after the horrid defeat that his Italian side went through in an Europa Conference League clash last week.

Remember that Jose Mourinho proclaimed himself as the Special One in 2004 when he was appointed Chelsea Manager. That Moniker has stayed with the Portuguese Gaffer for almost two decades and all it takes to almost strip it off of him was a Striker that was signed out of desperation by a Norwegian club Bodo/Glimt.

Last week Thursday, Jose Mourinho and his Roma Squad travelled to Norway. The Italian club was hosted by Bodo/Glimt at Aspmyra Stadion in Norway for their third UEFA Europa League clash. Prior to the Match, Roma had recorded two Victories in their two previous Europa League clash and had the intention of continuing with that trend.

To the surprise of Jose Mourinho himself, Roma won't just lose the match, they will be humiliated with a huge scoreline too. Jose Mourinho watched from the touchline as his Squad conceded a whopping 6 Goals in what turned out to be one of the biggest defeats in the career of Jose Mourinho as a Manager.

Just at the end of the first 45 minutes, the host were leading the visitors by 2-1. Jose Mourinho would have made plans with his boys to make a comeback in the game and possibly secure a win during the first half break but one Player in particular Erik Botheim had other plans for Roma.

Erik Botheim scored the first goal of that encounter as early as the eighth minute. 12 minutes later, he provided an assist for his teammate Patrick Berg to get the second goal for the Norway club. Carles Perez halved the deficit for Roma before the first half break.

During the second half, Bodo/Glimt completed the annihilation of Roma, and Jose Mourinho will have Erik Botheim to loathe for that. The 21-year-old got a brace and a hat trick of Assists against Roma.

Erling Haaland is currently one of the lethal and ruthless shooters in European but, not even the Borussia Dortmund marksman has been able to achieve the feat that his compatriot Erik Botheim achieved in an European clash.

Both Erling Haaland and Erik Botheim were born in 2000. According to Goal, the duo played together for the youth team of the Norwegian National team. In 2016 when they were just 16 years old, Erik Botheim and Erling Haaland formed a band alongside Defender Erik Tobias Sandberg during a camp for the Norway National team. The trio named the band Flow Kingz and recorded a song titled Kygo Jo.

Goal also reported that Erik Botheim was seen as being talented more than Erling Haaland when they were younger. While Botheim made trial runs for Barcelona before eventually signing for Rosenborg the richest and biggest club in Norway, Haaland was still playing for a second division club in Norway.

Erling Haaland eventually gained stardom when he moved to Salzburg but Erik Botheim's progress hit a rock. At Rosenborg, he wasn't giving playing time before they sent him on loan to a mid-table club.

Rosenborg eventually terminated his contract. Erik Botheim would have remained without a club if not for the desperation of Bodo/Glimt. The club sold all their attackers that helped them won the Championship last season but wasn't able to afford a Striker. Erik Botheim was available as a free agent and that was the reason he's at Bodo/Glimt.

The club wasn't expecting any impression from Botheim. All they needed was to just get a Striker but Erik Botheim has surprised them all. He has scored 13 League goals for the club and another 6 in the Europa conference League this season.
