The Player That Was Killed For Scoring An Own Goal

Football is a game of love as regarded by many football experts and pundits. Fans always feel happy when their team is winning and feel sad whenever their team is losing.

A certain Colombian player was killed for scoring an own goal in a major tournament. It was gathered that the own goal contributed to his team's elimination from the competition.

Andres Escobar was killed in the aftermath of the 1994 FIFA World Cup, reportedly for having scored an own goal which contributed to the team's elimination from the tournament. His murder, tarnished the image of his country internationally.

Andres Escobar was a Colombian footballer who played as a defender. Nicknamed "The Gentleman", he was known for his clean style of play and humbleness on the pitch. He played for BSC Young Boys, Atletico Nacional and the Colombia national team.

The former Colombia international was murdered for mistakenly scoring an goal.
