Two Manchester United Players That Should Up Their Games After Ronaldo's Brace Yesterday

It was a glamorous debut return for Cristiano Ronaldo yesterday as he struck twice to propel Manchester United to a 4-1 victory over the Magpies.

As expected, the Portugese International was treated to a warm reception from the home supporters who were over the moon to have their talisman back. By bagging a brace, Ronaldo proved that he is not yet done on the pitch and that he can be the man to initiate success once again at the club.

However, Ronaldo's instant double should be a wake up call for the following two Manchester United players;

1- Jadon Sancho

The Englishman arrived Old Trafford from Borrusia Dortmund on the back of a £73 million transfer fee and was expected to light things up prior to the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo.

However, the expectations for Sancho hasn't changed and if Ronaldo can bag twice on his return debut, then what is the 21 year old doing with zero goals in four games. Clearly, Ronaldo's instant impact is a wake up call for Sancho.

2- Anthony Martial

Since the beginning of last season, the Frenchman has been struggling to assert his authority on the pitch.

Like Sancho, he is still without any decent contribution after four Premier league games this season and now that the squad is more competitive, he too must Improve.

Ronaldo has already cemented his place in the first team line-up and if Sancho and Martial wish to join him up front regularly, then they must find their scoring boots and find it quickly or risk being bench warmers. It is true that the Portugese isn't on the same level with the aforementioned footballers, but if a player at age 36 is still scoring, then what is Sancho and Martial doing.
