In the final stages of last season, Thomas Tuchel led Chelsea to three huge victories over Pep Guardiola's Manchester City.

Chelsea won their first league encounter, coming back from a goal down to win 2-1. Chelsea beat City in the FA Cup semi-finals before winning the Champions League final by a huge 1-0 margin.

Chelsea are the clear favourites for this match, with the two clubs due to meet again this weekend.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has attempted to minimize last season's results, claiming that the key to his team's victory over Pep Guardiola was in the smallest of details.

“It's not between me and him, it's not a tennis match or a chess match, it's between our teams that play at a very high level,” Tuchel stated in his news conference.

“Honestly, I've seen three 50/50 matchups in the previous three games, both before and during the games. It might have gone any way. Once you've got 50/50 matches, it's all about the little details. You can get an edge in little situations.

“I'm expecting a 50/50 match tomorrow,” says the coach. We intend to fight for a better outcome. We've done it before, but we know how much pain we went through in previous games, and we'll have to do it again tomorrow.”
