REPORTS: Manchester United remain keen on signing 24-year-old central midfielder next year

No doubts, Manchester United football club had a rather quiet summer transfer window before it was shut early last month.

The Red Devils are keen on winning their first trophy under the management of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and sealed the signings of Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo to bolster their chances.

That said, Manchester United have started the ongoing 2021/2022 football season on a very good note and are currently in third position on the Premier League table after playing seven matches so far.

However, despite their good run of form manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer remains interested in improving his midfield options next summer and he is eyeing up a move for AC Milan central midfielder Franck Kessie.

The 24-year-old Ivory Coast International, who joined Serie A side AC Milan after leaving Atalanta in 2019 has been an important part of the first-team squad in recent months.

The young central midfielder was particularly impressive in the AC Milan midfield last season, scoring 14 goals and providing 6 assists in 50 appearances in all competitions.

His excellent displays in midfield has attracted interest from several clubs across Europe, and according to reports from The Sun, Manchester United are still very much interested and are pushing on in their approach to bring him to England next summer.

It is believed that Franck Kessie has been on Manchester United's transfer list for a while now, and the Red Devils could now be aided with reports that the midfielder is unwilling to sign a new contract at Milan.

The young midfielder has less than a year left on his current contract at the San Siro and he will be available to negotiate a free transfer move with interested clubs in just three months.

That said, if Manchester United can agree a deal to bring Franck Kessie to Old Trafford, then they have finally found an improvement to a midfield that consists of the likes of Scott and, Fred, Nemanja Matic and Donny van de Beek.
