José Mourinho visits Juventus after provoking fans

Roma boss Jose Mourinho returns to Turin for the first time since his controversial gesture after the 2-1 victory over Juventus, while at Manchester United.

The Portuguese tactician provoked the supporters and players of Juventus after his United side bounced back to beat the Old Lady in the Champions League group stage.

The former Chelsea manager, who won the Treble during his time with Inter, had already exchanged chants and gestures with the Old Trafford crowd, and decided to spark controversy when holding his hand to his ear and winking at the Juve fans after the 2-1 win in the return leg.

Mourinho told Sky Sport Italia after the match: "I was insulted for 90 minutes. I came here to do my job, nothing more."

The Portuguese gesture provoked the Bianconeri players and Leonardo Bonucci confronted Mourinho on the pitch.

"I didn’t offend anyone in the end, I just made a gesture that I wanted to hear them louder," Mourinho said. "I probably shouldn’t have done it, and with a cool head I wouldn’t have done it, but with my family insulted, including my Inter family, I reacted like this," he added.

The capital city boss returns to the Allianz Stadium and is probably not expecting a warm welcome on Sunday.
