'Thanks To La Liga's Poor Referees and VAR' - Twitter Critics React To Real Madrid's Victory

It was an incredible night for the Los Blancos and her fans as secured their 34th La Liga title after their 2-1 win against Villarreal. This made it their 3rd La Liga title since the past decade, making Zinedine Zidane count his 11th trophy for the club in 4 years.

The first goal of the game came in the 29th minute when the Croatian midfielder slid the ball to Benzema who made no mistake to finish brilliantly.

Despite the potential substitutions Villarreal made in the stroke of half-time, it didn’t seem to instil fear on their hosts, as the French forward netted the second goal of the occasion making it his 21st of the season.

Vicente Iborra’s strike proved to be a consolation goal for Villarreal, but they couldn’t find an equalizer before the final whistle blew, while Los Blancos side erupted in cheers.

Although Madrid won the game fairly, critics went online to blast La Liga referees pointing out that a penalty should not have been awarded to Real Madrid’s captain, Sergio Ramos.

Others said that the officials just tried to do everything in Real Madrid’s favour to secure the La Liga title for them.
