Capital club, Real Madrid won their 34th La Liga title on Thursday with a 2-1 win over Villarreal. Top scorer, Karim Benzema opened scoring in the 29th minute and doubled the lead in the 77th minute after he retook a disallowed Sergio Ramos penalty. Villareal scored a penalty of their own through former Sevilla and Leicester midfielder, Iborra to set a nervy end to the game but closest rivals, FC Barcelona conceded deep into added time for their first loss at home in the La Liga this season.
