Access Bank Lagos City Marathon has become a yearly activity sponsored by Access Bank PLC. Over 100,000 people participated in 2020 in the race. However, for safety measures, only 300 were allowed to race in the 2021 edition.
Not long ago, a Kenya man identified as Emmanuel Naibei broke the line and emerges as the winner in the male category. On the other hand, a beautiful Ethiopian lady also known as Meseret Dinke won the female category.

Recall that in 2020, David Barmasai Tumo and Sharon Jemutai Cherop were the winners of the 42 km Lagos City Marathon. one interesting thing about them is that they hail from the same country, Kenya. Both smashed the records and rewarded with cash prizes and cars.
The recent marathon has left Nigerian wondering why Kenya and Ethiopia always emerge as the winner each year. Some persons said since Nigeria host the marathon it won't be a bad idea if they should win it.
