Liverpool football club played out a 2-2 draw with Fulham in their opening fixture of their 2022/2023 English Premier league season st Craven Cottage. Mohamed Salah who scored Liverpool's second goal against the London based club in the 81st minute extended his opening day fixtures record.
Before this goal the Egyptian winger held the record of the only player in the English Premier league history to have scored in 5 consecutive opening weekend fixture.
He started off by scoring a goal against Watford in the opening weekend fixture in the 2017/2018 season. In the 2018/2019 season, he scored a goal against West Ham United.
In the 2019/2020 season, he found the back of the net again in match day 1 against Norwich City. He scored 3 goals against Leeds United in their opening weekend fixture in the 2020/2021 season.
In the 2021/2022, he scored a goal against Norwich City to set up the record and against a resilient Fulham team, he extended that record by scoring a goal to snatch a point from the host.
