Opinion: Arsenal Can Use This Lineup In The Absence Of Lacazette And Aubameyang To Win Chelsea.

The future of Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang in Arsenal looks uncertain as their transfer sagas rumble on.

The duo missed out on the first match of the English Premier League 2021/2022 season on Friday night, due to illness, as the Gunners were defeated 2-0 at the Brentford community stadium by a newly promoted side.

Arsenal lacked composure, determination, and focus against the Brentford side due to the absence of the team captain and his striking counterpart Lacazette. Gabriel Martinelli was forced to start having just returned from the just-concluded Olympics games, while Folarin Balogun was the only striking option left upfront in the absence of Eddie Nketiah who is out due to an ankle injury.

Few days after the premier league clash, the Gabonese international and his French teammate were announced to be available for a transfer by the team head coach Mikel Arteta. This came as rather shocking news for Arsenal fans with uncertainties if the actual absence of the players were due to a possible transfer this summer. Reports later had it that Barcelona was interested in the services of either of the two strikers and ready for a swap deal with the club’s midfielder Philip Coutinho.

Following the recent development, Mikel Arteta may have to miss out on the two strikers again this weekend as the Gunners faces London rivals Chelsea in the 2nd week of the English Premier League, barely one month when the two teams met in the Mind series friendly, a game which Arsenal lost 2-1.

It's a fierce meeting this time as Arteta may be at risk of losing his job if he fails to produce points as soon as possible Rumors are already circulating about Antonio Conte coming in as a replacement, having resigned after helping Inter Milan win an Italian title in 11 years.

Arsenal may have to line up with almost the same squad that faced Brentford last weekend but we should be expecting changes in some positions. If the changes go according to this expectation, Arsenal has a greater chance of being a better side.

Rob Holding should join the defense line in partnership with Pablo Mari. The duo played together in most Arsenal matches last season. Ben White assumes the role occupied by Calum Chambers, this will help him adapt better pairing with the two center-backs in other features, while the ever-impressive Keiran Tierney should maintain the left-wing back in a four-man defensive option.

Mohammed Elneny is a better choice in the absence of Thomas Partey than Sambi Lokonga who underperformed in his EPL debut last game, the Egyptian should be paired with the Swiss captain while Emile Smith-Rowe continues with the attacking midfielder role until he gets a reliever.

Nicolas Pepe is not better anywhere else than operating from the right flank, his crosses are good, should his old-fashioned tricky playwork favor him Arsenal gets a goal. The creative role is now bestowed on the 21-year-old England International Bukoya Saka. Therefore, he should be introduced on time, he may get the work done on time while the team would just have to do the defending for the rest of the game.

Having risen from the Arsenal academy because of his goal-scoring ability, Folarin Balogun may be given a second chance to prove his worth in a team that has no other options upfront, while Gabriel Martinelli comes in for the 20-year-old on the position he played well the last time he was used as a center-forward.
