Adeboye who revealed his love for boxing, noted that he had been following the life and career of Ali the boxing legend since the fight against Sonny Liston.

Speaking at the virtual February 2021 Holy Ghost Service of the church with the theme: ‘God Bless You (2)’, Adeboye said Ali is the undisputed champion of boxing but like every human champion, they all fade away.

The pastor revealed that when he noticed that the health status of Ali had failed, it made him weep, noting that God is the only champion that can’t fade.

In a statement on Friday, Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, said nothing of such happened in the state.

Fanwo asked Nigerians to be careful of sharing fake news and videos, saying such baseless speculation could spark tension on the state.

He added that the fire incident that happened in the area was caused by indiscriminate bush burning by unknown persons.

The commissioner said those responsible, no matter their tribe or position, would be made to face the full wrath of the law.

Fanwo noted that Kogi State enjoyed peaceful coexistence with the Fulani, Bassa, Nupe and other communities living or doing businesses in the state.

Kano arrests, repartriates 500 street beggars

Kano State government has commenced full enforcement to the law that prohibited street begging by arresting 500 beggars including women and children within the Kano metropolis.

Most of those arrested have turned some places, especially beneath the bridges and flyovers into nuisance, they sleep there and are accused of also engaging in crimes that include drugs peddling.
