3 Things You Didn't Know About Gianluigi Donnarumma

Donnarumma is the goalkeeper who saved 2 penalties and won the player of the tournament award at the Euro 2020 competition. Apart from these facts I will be telling you 3 things you didn't know about him.

(1)IDOLS: Donnarumma started that "Buffon is my idol. My dream is to become a regular in the senior national team and follow In his footsteps" (Source: BBC, 2015).

Year's later he said "My favorite player has always been Kaká. My room used to be covered by his posters, so I absolutely say Kaká" (Source: Instagram, 2018).

(2)JERSEY NUMBER: Many footballers are well known for wearing certain numbers, in Donnarumma's case, he likes to wear the number 99 jersey and he has always wore the number at AC Milan. The reason he wears the number 99 is because it signifies the year he was born which is 1999.

The player would have to change his jersey number because his current club, Paris Saint Germain, is a French league club and the Lique 1 law only allows a goalkeeper to wear the number 1, 16 or 30 jersey number.

(3)RECORDS: Donnarumma made his debut two years after he signed for AC Milan at the age of 14 years. His debut made him the second youngest goalkeeper to play in the Serie A, he was 16 years and 242 days old when he debuted for AC Milan.

He is the youngest goalkeeper to play for the Italian International Senior Team, he was just 17 years and 189 days old when he debuted for the International team.

Between October 14, 2020 and June 26, 2021, Italy did not concede a goal. The team played a total of 1,168 minutes which is also 19 hours of football and Donnarumma played 987 minutes of those playing time.
