The honor Ronaldo would have enjoyed ahead of Benzema this season if he had not left Madrid

There has never been a debate whether Cristiano Ronaldo is a good player or not, the debate has always been whether he or Messi is the greatest of all time.

Through hard work and belief, Ronaldo has been consistent with his game. He excelled in Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus and is shining in Manchester United again this season. With Ronaldo's success, there is still one honor he doesn't enjoy regularly in the clubs he plays for.

Ronaldo has never been the main or deputy captain in the teams he's played for, but he often leads the team when the captains are not available. In Real Madrid, the club chooses captains based on the player's longevity, and it would have been Ronaldo's turn this season if he hadn't left Real Madrid.

Sergio Ramos and Marcelo were always ahead of him as captain and deputy because they got to Real Madrid before him. It would have been his turn to be assistant captain ahead of Benzema because he came to Real Madrid ahead of Benzema.

Benzema is the assistant captain in Real Madrid for the first time because of the exit of Ramos, but he is the one leading the club because of Marcelo's absence due to injury. This would have been Ronaldo's time to be the captain of his club just like he leads Portugal, but he left the club in 2018.

Do you think he should be the captain in Manchester United, or it is too early?
