Nigeria Vs Cape Verde And Other Decisive Matches That Would Shape Up Africa's W/C Play-Off Round

With only one game to complete the section of Africa World Cup Qualifications ahead of Qatar 2022, only four (Senegal, Morocco, Egypt and Mali) countries now have secured an automatic spot into the next round and in the next coming days, more of the African country would join to decide the ten countries that would be in the third round.

For the African section of the World Cup Qualifier, 10 group winners each are expected to make up the third round which would decide five two-legged affairs and ahead of that, some crucial matches would be played across different venues.

1. Ghana Vs South Africa

After a disappointing 1-1 with Ethiopia on Thursday, which the Black Star would hope does not come to cost them in their game against Bafana Bafana of South Africa at Cape Coast, a win for Ghana would see them top the group while a draw for South Africa would see them advance to the third and final round. In the last encounter between these two, South Africa won 1-0 at home and Ghana would be counting on home advantage to secure all points.

2. Algeria Vs Burkina Faso

Even though Algeria are the clear favourites here ahead of the match on Tuesday, anything can happen in football and an upset for Algeria would see them bowing to Burkina Faso as the table topper of Group A.

3. Nigeria Vs Cape Verde

Just like the Algeria game, the Super Eagles of Nigeria are the favourite here ahead of their game on Tuesday as they welcome the Blue Sharks to Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos. After doing the job against Liberia with a 2-0 win, the Eagles would need just a point to top Group C while an upset would see Cape Verde going into the next round.

4. Cameroon Vs Ivory Coast

If the rules were two countries qualifying, both Cameroon and Ivory Coast would have made it easily out of Group D as they have both been in good forms but sadly, only one would have to come out as table topper. With Cameroon at home, all they need is a win while Ivory Coast needs a draw.
