Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger linked with a surprise move to Real Madrid

Real Madrid are monitoring Antonio Rudiger's current contract situation at Stamford Bridge as the German defender will become a free agent at the end 2021/2022 campaign.

The center-back had stated that he wants to remain at Chelsea after becoming a vital part of Thomas Tuchel's plan, but according to reports, Rudiger is still considering his future at Stamford Bridge amid offers from top clubs in Europe.

According to AS, Real Madrid new boss Carlo Ancelloti is in search of defensive reinforcement after the departure of Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos, and Rudiger is seen as a perfect alternative by Los Blancos.

The report also stated that the player's contract negotiations with the blues failed, and the Champions League-winning defender will be free to negotiate with other clubs in January.

Rudiger who failed to get regular first team football under former manager Frank Lampard, became a vital part of Thomas Tuchel's plan.
