See Oshoala, Kelechi Nwakali And Chukwueze Training At Different Local Pitches With Young Footballers

I remember playing at Loco around Yaba, and what the coach will tell us some history to encourage us sometimes, I remember a time when he said "Yusuf Ayila played on this pitch, he was discovered here, he went on to be a football great, work hard and you can be better than him". It sent lots of encouragement but imagine us seeing Ayila come to the pitch when he was on holiday, it only made the explanation more believable. When footballers come back to train on the pitches that made them, it helps upcoming footballers a lot.

Football is big business now, gone are the days when parents discourage children from playing this beautiful game, calling them unserious, nowadays, parents encourage their children to play the game, even if not full time, they are allowed to play.

Most football stars were discovered on the street and local pitches. Having the local pitch experience can be an advantage to them because these pitches do not have grass, it's pure solid clay and sometimes sand. The advantage this gives is that when they go on to play on grass turfs, it becomes more easier and they play with much comfort. For instance, running on the clay pitch is harder, so, when they run in the grass turfs, they are faster.

Sliding is common for a wing back when attacking a wing forward, doing so on the clay pitch gives injuries on the thigh, footballers who have played on this clay can relate with what I am saying.

Many stars are made on this clay pitches and when they find time to come back to such pitches, it is only great encouragement that it can send to the upcoming footballers.

Asisat does so regularly, Nwakali and Chukwueze too. Let them keep encouraging the youth with their appearances.

Does playing on clay field make it easier when players get to grass turfs?
