Chelsea were the pre-match favourites to get a win at the Allianz Stadium as The Blues faced Serie A giants, Juventus.
The Chelsea lineup was missing a couple of key players, but their replacements were looking strong and capable of filling their role. Mason Mount was absent due to an injury he picked up in the Carabao Cup as Chelsea faced Aston Villa.
N'golo Kante was not present because he tested positive for the Coronavirus, and had to isolate himself from his teammates to avoid the spread.
Reece James is still suffering from an ankle injury which he got from playing against Manchester City in the Premier League. He was substituted early for Thiago Silva, and is still yet to recover but he might be available for Chelsea's next match.
Christian Pulisic has been out for weeks, after picking up an ankle injury during his international duty. The American is still in recovery and there is no set date for his return.
These players are very important for Chelsea and they could have changed the dynamics of the game if they were available.
The Two Weak Links Currently In The Chelsea Starting Lineups.
After analysing Chelsea's game against Juventus which ended in a 1-0 win to the Serie A giants, it was obvious where Chelsea had problems and the players that caused them.
Despite the recent success Jorginho has had in football, he still is not a world-class midfielder and makes certain bad decisions. If correctly pressured Jorginho has a high chance of losing the ball to the opposition.
Jorginho is always making it to Chelsea's starting lineup, especially in important matches. But his presence in the midfield is one of Chelsea's weaknesses.
Marcos Alonso started out with good performances this season, but recently has seen a drop in form. In the match against Juventus, Marcos Alonso seemed to be struggling down on the left-wing and was not creating any chances.
Alonso was mostly dispossessed from the ball and did not have the pace to disturb the Juventus defence. He was part of Chelsea's problems that saw The Blues fail to win the match.
Marcos Alonso has always been making it to the Chelsea starting lineup recently, but perhaps it is time to bring on Ben Chilwell. Chilwell can be reliable on the left-flank, and knows how to create chances.
Jorginho and Marcos Alonso should be sidelined for Chelsea's next match. Ben Chilwell can replace Marcos Alonso and Ruben Loftus-Cheek can be paired in the midfield with Mateo Kovacic.
