It was Liverpool's third friendly fixture of the pre-season as they travelled to face German side Hertha Berlin at the Tivoli Stadion Tirol on Thursday evening. The Reds were looking to secure their 2nd straight victory in pre-season which will help boost their confidence ahead of next season's campaign.
Hertha Berlin scored the opening goal of the match in the 21st minute as S. Ascacibar found the back of the net with a fine effort to put the German side 1-0 up.
Hertha Berlin kept piling the pressure on Liverpool as they netted the second goal of the match through Suat Serdar's strike to make the scoreline 2-0.
Liverpool bounced back before the halftime whistle as Sadio Mane and Takumi Minamino scored in the 36th and 42nd minute respectively to bring both sides to level terms.
Hertha Berlin restored their lead in the 66th minute of the game as Stevan Jovetic made fantastic use of the ball to put his side 3-2 ahead in the match.
Hertha Berlin new signing Stevan Jovetic scored again in the 80th minute of the game to give the German side a well deserved 4-2 lead.
Oxlade Chamberlain scored the final goal in the 88th minute of the game to make the full-time scoreline 4-3 as Hertha Berlin were the winners.
