Meet Nigerian-Eligible Chelsea's Goalkeeper Prince Adegoke

There are a couple of Nigerian-eligible footballers who are on the verge of representing other countries at the international level. Most of them have recorded two or three appearance for their country of birth.

If the Nigerian Football Federation does not act fast, we risk losing more than we have already lost to the european sides. Since the retirement of Vincent Enyeama, the Super Eagles have struggled to get a reliable replacement, leaving the goalkeeping position open for newbies.

Prince Adegoke have great potentials to outshine Maduka Okoye who is the current No.1, but a lot of Nigerians do not know about him.

Who is the youngster who plays for Chelsea academy in England, does he have what it takes to be the Super Eagles first choice in the future?.

Prince Adegoke is described as a very tall and big presence on the pitch. The quality which is similar to Chelsea's current No.1, Eduoard Mendy. The 18-year-old featured on the bench in the FA Youth Cup last season and has been a consistent starter with the U-18.

He as been part of the full time school programme at the academy.

Adegoke was born on November 3, 2003 in Farnborough England to a Nigerian parents. In November, 2020 he signed his first professional contract with Chelsea which will keep him at the Club untill 2023.

However, the 18-year-old is eligible to represent Nigeria as well as The Three Lions of England. His father had explained why his son did not show up when he was invited to the Golden Eaglets get together in Abuja in 2019 during the preparation for the FIFA U17 World Cup.

His hopes of making his international debut for Nigeria at the World Championship in Brazil were dashed by club and educational commitment.

Prince Adegoke is hopeful of representing Nigeria at the international level. All he is waiting for his a call from the Nigerian Football Federation. The 18-year-old has continue to remain committed and focus in training.
