5 Signs Barcelona may not win any trophy this season

Ten years ago, Barcelona was a dreadful side, opposition teams often preferred to defend solidly than to attack the star-studded side. Today, the case is different, opposition teams are bold to confront the Catalan giants and this is just one of the few signs that the club may not win any trophy this season.

1. Barça is playing outside their comfort zone.

Barcelona has a style of play, and it is the tiki-taka but recently, statistics show that they do not play like that throughout the game. In the game against Granada, Pique had to play as a striker, Barcelona had 54 crosses into the opposition box and this is very didn't even produce many results as they found the back of the net once.

Not believing in tiki-taka is a bad sign because this is the style that won many trophies for the club. If they continue playing this way, and it doesn't work for a side like Granada, they will drop points consistently and win nothing.

2. Excessive Self Criticism.

When Messi left, Pique said nothing in Barcelona will remain the same, when they lost to Bayern, he said there are too many young players in the team, when they drew with Granada, he said, "it is what it is.”

Koeman also said the club isn't the same as 8 years ago, and this just shows that there may be a lack of belief to triumph in the club.

3. Barcelona is a weaker team.

One thing Messi clamored for in Barcelona was that the club should buy players that can help them win trophies, and this is because great players are important.

Barcelona lost Messi and Griezmann without worthy replacements, this means they have a weaker team than the team that won only the Copa del Rey last season.

4. Excessive injuries.

Ansu Fati, Dembélé, Pedri, Alba, Aguero are players who can help Barcelona, but they are injured. If the injury worries continue, Barcelona will lose irrecoverable points in La Liga Santander and Champions League.

5. Manager's discomfort.

We are just a few weeks into the 2021/2022 season and there are already talks about the future of the coach. One of the presidential candidates in Barcelona's election, Toni Freixa, was right to say, “We've only had four rounds of the league season, and we're asking if Koeman should stay or go. He can't work comfortably if there is all this external and internal noise.”

Do you think it's too early to judge Barcelona, or they really cannot win any trophies this season?
