UEFA Champions League

Leo Messi racks up 300 wins at Camp Nou

Leo Messi made history against the Real Sociedad: he won the Barça and the captain of the team achieved his 300th victory in the Camp Nou.

In his 747th match with Barça, Messi won his 300th home win.

Messi has 210 wins in the league, 53 in the Champions League, 30 in the Cup and 6 in the Spanish Super Cup. He has drawn 48 times and lost 20 times. He scored 380 goals.

The best campaign was 2010-11, with Pep Guardiola: he won 23 of the 27 matches he played at the Estadi. His best run is 15 consecutive victories (14 in the 2009-10 course and one in 2010-11).

Besides, the Argentinean is only 20 games away from becoming the first team player with the most matches, a record currently held by Xavi Hernández with 767.

The egarense, by the way, now helmsman of the Al-Sadd catarí, was chosen last Monday to be part of the Golden Ball Dream Team, prize promoted by France Football to distinguish the best eleven of all times.

The Brazilian scored 643 goals with Santos FC and Messi has 642 with Barça. He is one away from equalling Pele as the player with the most goals in a single club, and one away from surpassing the mythical striker, three-time world champion with the Canarinha national team.
