Meet Former Manchester United Player Who played for club and country on the same day

According to football calendars it's not easy to play 2 matches on the same day , Leislie Mark Hughes played for both club and country on November 11 1987, where he played a Euro qualifier Match for wales against Czechoslovakia in Prague, then flew to Germany and came on as a substitute for Bayern Munich game against Borussia monchengladbach in the second half.

Many stated that Hughes should be named as one of the football Wonders, he did something that was never done before even for football heroes like Messi and Ronaldo.

Born 1 Nov 1963 Hughes started his career down at Manchester United youth (1978-80) and played for the senior team from (1980-86) making 87 appearances scoring 37 goals.

He also played for Barcelona, Bayern Munich (loan),came back to Man utd (1988-95) making 257 apps scoring 83 goals, then went to Chelsea, Southampton, Everton and finally Blackburn Rovers.

He made 72 apps for Wales scoring 16 goals. He also won a host of winners medals in his career.
