A Win for Arsenal at Anfield Could See Three More Premier League Records Broken

There is no doubt that the fixture between Liverpool and Arsenal at Anfield is going to be a mouth-watering game.

It is a fixture that has always had a lot of goals irrespective of which team is home or away. Some of the score lines that we have seen between these two teams are 3:1, 5:1, 4:0, 1:1 and 3:3.

In the recent matches that Liverpool and Arsenal have played, record has favored the Reds as they have always had the upper hand in those games. For more than four Premier League seasons now, Arsenal have only managed a win against Liverpool in July 2020 at the Emirates stadium when they came from behind to beat the then reigning champions, 2:1.

However, Arsenal have never beaten Liverpool in the Anfield stadium for over four (4) years in the Premier League, hence we are going to look at the records Arsenal could achieve if they defeat Liverpool on Saturday, 20th November 2021.

Kindly note that the records discussed in this article cover since 2018.

Clean Sheet

Since 2018, Arsenal have always conceded against the Reds in their Premier League matches at Anfield. If they are able to overcome Liverpool at their home tomorrow, they may be doing that without allowing the Reds to score a single goal. As unlikely as that may be, it would mean that for the first time in four (4) year, Arsenal have kept a clean sheet at Anfield.

Conceding Three or More Goals

For every time the Gunners have lost to Liverpool at Anfield, they have done that with the Reds scoring them three goals or more. They have lost to Liverpool with a score line of 3:1, 4:0 and 5:1 all at Anfield.

If Arsenal defense is strong enough tomorrow, they could see themselves not conceding up to three (3) goals for the first time since 2018.

Scoring Less Than Two Goals

For the past four (4) years, the highest number of goals Arsenal have scored in a Premier League match at Anfield is one (1). With Emile Smith-Rowe and Bukayo Saka currently putting up fantastic performances against the opponents’ defense, Arsenal could be looking to score two or more goals against Liverpool tomorrow.

If the Gunners could win at Anfield and break those records, it would help boost their confidence immensely. It would also send a big message to the Premier League top teams that Arsenal can be as formidable as any of them.
