During the just concluded summer transfer window various football club around the world made some huge signings. Some of the football players have started making impact in their new teams while some have not lived up go the hype and expectations placed on their shoulder.
The following are the top 5 players who have so far not performed at their very best:
1. Geoginio Wijnaldum: the former Liverpool football club midfielder was admired and approached by several clubs after the expiration of his Liverpool's contract. Paris Saint Germain finally signed him on a 3 year contract. Since he was signed, he has struggled to pin down a starting spot. Idrissa Gueye and Marco Verratti have been the preferred choice for Mauricio Pocettino.
2. Saul Niguez: the Spanish midfielder moved to Chelsea on loan from Atletico Madrid in the summer. Since his move, he has been able to feature in the 3-0 win over Aston Villa. He has also fallen down the pecking order behind Ngolo Kante, Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic in the Defensive Midfield position.
3. Luuk De Jong: the new Barcelona striker joined the club on loan from Sevilla. Him move to the Catalan giant has been characterised by misses and poor performances. He has scored just once for Barcelona and it was against a struggling Levante.
Jadon Sancho: the English born winger moved from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester United for 72 million pounds. Since his arrival, he performance has been poor and below average. Manchester United faithfuls are yet to see those scintillating performances he displayed during his time at Borussia Dortmund. He has so far played 9 matches without scoring nor assisting a single goal.
Patson Daka: the highly rated 22 year old forward moved from Red Bull Salzburg to Leicester City for 23 Million pounds. He scored 54 league goals in 82 appearances for Salzburg but has only played 5 times for Leicester without a goal.
