The most anticipated match on Tuesday night saw two Arab sponsored big teams face each other in the UCL matchday 2. Pep Guardiola's Manchester City faced Pochettino's PSG at the Parc des Princes stadium. Both managers are quite familiar with themselves and was a battle of wits and tactics but Pochettino came out on top. The match ended in a 2-0 win for PSG with Idrissa Gana and Lionel Messi scoring both goals.
Here are 3 key highlights of the game:
Leo Messi Scores His First Goal For PSG
The Argentine finally recorded his first goal in a PSG shirt. Messi has waited a bit long for his goal and the goal he scored was definitely worth the wait. Leo wasted no time in volleying the ball into the net with a nice assist from Kylian. It was a beautiful return pass from Mbappe to Messi.
Messi finally shuts his detractors with a powerful goal and no one can deny that goal wasn't good.
Donnarumma Was A Hero
Many people might be quick to praise Kylian Mbappe or Messi for the win, but they tend to forget Donnarumma was very vital in PSG's win.
If not for the Italian, PSG would have conceded goals as City rampaged their defence. Donnarumma's touch of brilliance kept PSG in the game.
Pochettino Outclasses Guardiola
PSG's manager finally manages to make his star-studded team work. Man City looked like the better team based on chances created and all-round team performance but PSG was able to take the win. Pochettino eases off some pressure with this win and will have some lessons learnt in the game.
Pep Guardiola will have to go back to the drawing board and carefully examine what went wrong.
