Following a dismal performance in the last couple of weeks, Manchester United will welcome Atalanta In the Champions league this Wednesday in what will be the first ever meeting between these two sides in a European competition. Coming on the back of two defeats and a draw in their last three games, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be hoping to get his side back on track with a positive result, one that will ease the pressure on his shoulders for the time being. However, playing against a team who are top in their group and 6th in the Serie A log, the Red Devils must do better than they have done lately if they are to avoid another upset against their Italian opponent. Under normal circumstance, United should be good to go in this match owing to their squad valuable, but for a side that is still riddle with inconsistency, there are no guarantees.
Needful to say that the Red Devils are already out of one competition (The Carabao Cup), they have dropped out of the top four and are not currently in a qualifying position in the Champions league. The game against Atalanta gives them an opportunity to return to winning ways, learn from their previous mistakes and prepare for another crunch clash against an in form Liverpool side this weekend. But while it is still too early to write off Manchester United, they cannot keep slipping up if they intend to end the season on a high. It is about time they proved their authority on the pitch with quality performance and decent results and the game against Atalanta will be a good place to start.
Can United Return To Winning Ways In The Champions League On Wednesday?
