Next up for Chelsea Football Club is a rematch against Southampton in the fourth round of the League Cup. Chelsea beat Saints, 3-1, before the international break at the start of this month.
Normally chelsea are expected to rotate and give the backups and fringe players a chance to impress. But "The Blues" however has a slim chance to rotate players up front at the moment, with Romelu Lukaku, Timo Werner, and Christian Pulisic all dealing with various injuries.
However, N’Golo Kanté’s absence over the weekend has been explained to be simply a maintenance day for the Frenchman, and he should be available to play.
While we are not expecting another 7-0, Chelsea will be are clear favourites for this match as well, so we we must not be taking anything for granted.
Chelsea potential starting lineup:
Edouardo Mendy; Andreas Christensen, Antonio Rudiger, Thiago Silva, César Azpilicueta; Reece James, Jorginho; Ngolo Kante, Ben Chillwell, kai Harvetz; Hakim Ziyech
